چکیده

he meeting of forest and field is an ecotone--the juxtaposition of two structurally and compositionally different ecosystems. Ecotones exist at several spatial scales, ranging from local-scale edges between patches of different habitat o continental-scale transitions between major biomes. The transitions between adjacent ecosystems may be gradual or abrupt. So-called inherent edges occur as a result of a variety of natural phenomena; induced edges are created by human activities (Thomas 1979). Our focus will be on the abrupt, local edges of anthropogenic origin, especially the forest edges created by some forest management practices. Such forest edges generate complex interactions between species and communities associated with the adjacent ecosystems, usually a forest stand and an adjacent cleared area. These interspecific interactions can affect the characteristics of local wildlife populations in the vicinity of the forest edge, and the summed impacts over a landscape can affect he characteristics of an entire regional population. Ecologists seeking to better understand the effects of forest edges on wildlife species have often studied

Some Edge Cut Sets and an Upper bound for Edge Tenacity of Organic Compounds CnH2n+2

The graphs play an important role in our daily life. For example, the urban transport network can be represented by a graph, as the intersections are the vertices and the streets are the edges of the graph. Suppose that some edges of the graph are removed, the question arises, how damaged the graph is. There are some criteria for measuring the vulnerability of graph; the...

Narrow band based and broadband derived vegetation indices using Sentinel-2 Imagery to estimate vegetation biomass

Forest’s ecosystem is one of the most important carbon sink of the terrestrial ecosystem. Remote sensing technology provides robust techniques to estimate biomass and solve challenges in forest resource assessment. The present study explored the potential of Sentinel-2 bands to estimate biomass and comparatively analyzed of red-edge band based and broadband derived vegetation indices. Broadband...

Evaluation of Gazella subgutturosa Habitat and Presentation of its Utility Model at Mouteh Wildlife Refuge

Introduction: effective management and protection of wildlife populations depends on human understanding of the relationship between wildlife populations and habitats. The destruction and fragmentation of habitats reduces the living area of local communities, limits them to small habitats, and isolates wildlife populations, leading to increased intra-reproductions, reduced genetic diversity, an...

کمی‌سازی تغییرات الگوی مکانی سیمای سرزمین در زیستگاه سیاه خروس قفقازی (Tetrao mlokosiewiczi) در ذخیرگاه زیستکره ارسباران

Large scale land use/cover changes and habitat fragmentation have been associated with the decline of many wildlife populations in ecological sensitive regions. The main goal of this study was to quantify the spatial pattern changes in Caucasian Black Grouse habitat in Arasbaran Biosphere Reserve, Northwest of Iran in a period of 24 years (1987–2011). Caucasian black grouse (Tetrao mlokosiewicz...

Sufficient conditions for maximally edge-connected and super-edge-connected

Let $G$ be a connected graph with minimum degree $delta$ and edge-connectivity $lambda$. A graph ismaximally edge-connected if $lambda=delta$, and it is super-edge-connected if every minimum edge-cut istrivial; that is, if every minimum edge-cut consists of edges incident with a vertex of minimum degree. In this paper, we show that a connected graph or a connected triangle-free graph is maximall...
